The Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu trek is one of the most sought after trekking trails in Langtang Region. The trip combines three major areas north of Kathmandu along the border of Tibet Langtang, the sacred Gosainkunda Lake and Helambu. This sublime outing in the gentle wilderness of Langtang gives us the chance to explore villages & interact with the local folks & understand their traditions & customs on these harsh mountains, to climb small peaks and to visit see glaciers at convenient lower altitudes. We can trek through Langtang via the holy lakes of Gosainkunda at 4300m where thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit the tranquil lakes during the full moon festival in August.
The trek commences with an overland journey to the small commercial hub of Syabru, the main trading post of the area. From here we spend four days hiking up through this beautiful alpine valley to Kyangjin where we rest for a day for some exploration of the high mountains and glacial systems. We track back for three days before a journey to the sacred lakes of Gosaikunda, a major pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. We cross the Laurebina pass (4600m) and drop into the lush Helambu region and get first-hand experiences of different cultural lifestyles.
The Langtang, Gosainkunda & Helambu areas physically make up the typical highland Sherpa villages along with beautiful Rhododendron forest. Our Langtang valley Gosainkunda Helambu trek commences from Kathmandu after 8 hours of scenic driving to Syabrubensi. Langtang, Gosainkunda & Helambu Trek passes through lush green valleys with amazing Himalayan views of the Langtang Himalayan region, the Annapurna Himalayan range, Rolwaling Himalayan range and this blissful venture concludes at Melamchi pul bazaar where we travel by a comfy vehicle via the sleepy ancient little town of Dhulikhel back to Kathmandu
