Yoga and Meditation Tour is an opportunity to experience the spiritual healing powers of yoga and meditation from an accomplished guru while in nature and at ancient sites in Kathmandu. Yoga dates back to pre-Vedic Hindu traditions, likely developing as a concrete form of poses and postures around the 6th and fifth centuries. Yoga is usually a set of physical, mental and spiritual practices that have become popular in the west since the late 1980s. And, for all the right reasons!
Yoga is directly related to the nature and ancient culture of the Indian subcontinents. So, to fully appreciate, enjoy and experience this healing form of exercise, one needs to immerse in nature and adopt the lifestyle of the great yogis. What better way to do that than by practicing yoga with an accomplished guru among the mountains and hills in Nepal?
Adventure Trek Club takes you through different facets of spirituality in Yoga and Meditation Tour, one major factor being the Himalaya. We will practice yoga and meditation every day with an accomplished guru in various natural and spiritual/religious sites throughout the tour. We start the tour from Kathmandu with cultural yoga and Meditation. The next day, we head to Pokhara where we will be staying in PemaTsalSakya Monastery with 100 monks who follow a strictly spiritual lifestyle including daily meditation.
We practice vegetarianism throughout the Yoga and Meditation Tour. After spending roughly a day in the monastery, we drive to Phedi and trek to Pothana village for the night. The trek is as pleasant as it is spectacular and fulfilling. Views of Annapurna I (8,091m), Mt. Machhapuchhre (6,993m) and Lamjung Himal (6,983m) among others add to the beauty of the trek which goes through the dense forest, green fields, cascading waterfalls and picturesque traditional villages.
We start the next day with morning yoga and meditation in the beautiful natural setting adorned with hills, mountains, and forests. We then set off to Australian Camp which is in the Annapurna Conservation Area. You can soak in the beauty of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna I (8,091 m), Mt. Machapuchhre (6,993m), Mt. Nilgiri (7,061) and Lamjung Himal (6,983m). We can even see the whole of Pokhara valley and Phewa Lake on the horizon.
The next day we trek to Kande from where the drive to Pokhara. We start the next day in Pokhara with Yoga and meditation against the backdrop of Mt. Machapuchhre. Then we drive back to Kathmandu. The next day after yoga, we visit the ancient city of Bhaktapur which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We stay overnight in Keshab homestay. The next day, after yoga and meditation we trek to NamoBuddha via Panuati. Namobuddha is a vantage point to enjoy a panorama of Himalayan ranges and also hosts a monastery.
We take a meditation session inside the monastery the next day and go around for a short walk as well. Our Yoga and Meditation Tour ends with a drive back to Kathmandu. Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), you will be welcomed by a representative from Adventure Club Trek. After sorting out your custom formalities (visa and so on), you will be then transferred to your respective hotel in Adventure Club Trek’s private vehicle and give you some time to freshen up. After this, you will attend an orientation about your trek led by the trekking leader over a welcome dinner.

We start our day with a hearty breakfast and then set off on a guided tour to some of the UNESCO world heritage sites in the valley. We visit medieval historical Durbar Squares, two famous Buddhist Stupas; Swayambhunath and Boudhanath, and the holy Hindu Temple of Pashupatinath. After wrapping up our sightseeing trip for the day, we discuss the trek, check the equipment and make preparations at the Adventure Club Trek’s office.

We start the morning with the yoga routine we learned the last day from our Guru. After breakfast, we board a tourist bus to Pokhara. It is around 7 hours of pleasant drive alongside TrishuliRiver surrounded by lush green hills. We stop for meals in between. Upon reaching Pokhara, we will then be transferred to another vehicle which will take us to PemaTsalSakyaMonastery. It is a monastery built in honor of PemaTötrengTsal, one of the Guru Rinpoches. Established in 2002, the monastery is home to 100 monks.
Wake up early to observe the monks perform their daily prayer. Then, we relax our body with a yoga session in the peaceful environment of the monastery. After breakfast; we board a vehicle that will take us to Phedi from where we trek to Pothana Village. We ascend the upstairs and pass through dense forest and green paddy fields to reach the village of Dhampus. Pothana is roughly 3.5 miles/5.6 kilometers from Dhampus. The trail climbs up and down through varied terrains to finally arrive at Pothana Village. Overnight at a guesthouse overlooking Mt. Machapuchhre in Pothana Village.
Wake up to the beautiful views of Mt. Dhaulagiri (), Mt. Machapuchhre () and Mt. Annapurna. (8,091m). Morning yoga session followed by breakfast starts our day. We continue to ascend on a beautiful trail surrounded by greenery and mountain views. After climbing a long stone staircase, we reach Australian Camp. If weather permits we can bask in the spectacular views of Mount Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Machhapuchchhre, Nilgiri, Lamjung Himal, Pokhara Valley, and Phewa lake.
Relax your tired muscles with a morning yoga routine amidst mountains and spectacular scenery. Today we head back to Lake City, Pokhara. The trail to Kandel is mostly downhill and relatively shorter, it completes a small circuit. From Kande, we drive back to Pokhara.
We practice yoga in the morning against the backdrop of stunning Mt. Machhapuchhre as seen from Pokhara and then have breakfast before boarding a tourist bus back to Kathmandu. It is a 7-hour drive on Prithvi Highway. We check-in to our hotel rooms and rest or stroll around the city for the remainder of the day.
After our routine morning yoga and meditation session with our Guru, we have a clean and green breakfast and head to the ancient city of Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is a culturally rich city with centuries-old mud houses, ancient-looking alleys, old palaces, idols; the ancient art of pottery is still practiced here and is a great example of fine Newari Architecture. It makes for a light yoga and meditation set. After exploring much of Bhaktapur, we head to Keshab Home (Homestay) for the night.
We start our morning with our routine yoga and meditation session followed by a clean and green breakfast. Then we hike to Panauti on a forested trail. From Panauti, we drive to NamoBuddha, a vantage point that hosts ThranguTashiYangtse Monastery. We stay overnight in a homestay at NamoBuddha.
The ThranguTashiYangtse Monastery holds more than 250 monks. It is a Tibetan monastery of the Kagyu tradition built by KhyabjeThrangu Rinpoche. We start our morning with a meditation session inside the monastery along with other monks. You can spend as much time as you like learning the different facets of Tibetan Buddhism in the monastery. Later in the day, we go for a short walk around NamoBuddha. Overnight in a homestay at NamoBuddha.
We start our day with a yoga and meditation session overlooking the Sun rising over the mountains. We take our breakfast after the session and get ready for a drive back to Kathmandu. Once in Kathmandu, you can choose to either stay at your hotel and take a rest or stroll around the city and go for souvenir shopping which our guide will be happy to help you with.
You have officially come to the end of Yoga and Meditation Tour with Adventure Club Trek. Our representative will escort you to the airport in time for your flight. You can share and exchange photos, videos, and memories with your fellow Yogis and trekkers before the departure. In case you wish to embark on another adventure in Nepal, we will be more than happy to help.

Prior to all the treks and expeditions, Adventure Club Trek hosts a pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu. The primary purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about the forthcoming trek and to introduce other team members. The meeting covers topics as diverse as personal equipment and acclimatization and usually involves a hike and some skills training. A pre-trip meeting is very important in order to have better preparation for the trekking.
