Tamang Heritage home-stay trek is a recently opened trekking route. This off-the-beaten-track experience offers some of the most beautiful and amazing views of the whole country. This trek provides a close view of the Himalayan ranges along with a deep insight into the Tamang people's unique lifestyle and culture. One of the nearest trekking destinations from Kathmandu, this route is a perfect combination of natural and cultural richness. During the trek in this area one can see over 70 glaciers, picturesque Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges, and high-altitude lakes with religious significance, including Gosainkunda, Parvatikunda, Bhairavkunda, and Dudhkunda, while at the same time experience the idyllic Tibetan culture, craftsmanship, unique dress, traditional stone houses, and the beautifully carved wooden verandahs in this area.

This trekking trail, developed by the Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program (RPAP), is one of the most popular home-stay trekking trails in Nepal. It provides travelers with an opportunity to observe Sabru, Mane, and other local dances at Goljung, Brimdang, and Gatlang villages. On this trek, one gets to experience the famous Tamang hospitality, through a homestay. This trekking trail is a nature-lover and knowledge-seekers paradise. It offers amazing views of the beautiful landscape, as well as a,  peek into the unique and mystifying Tamang culture.

Price Includes

  • Arrival and Departure transfer by private tourist vehicle. 
  • 3 nights’ accommodation in a standard twin shared room at a three-star hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast.
  • 6 nights’ accommodation during the trek in a twin shared lodge ( Home Stay)
  • Welcome and farewell dinner.
  • All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the trek
  • Transportation from Kathmandu-Syabrubesi- Kathmandu by public Jeep /bus.
  • Government licensed, English speaking guide trained in wilderness first aid
  • Porters to carry your luggage during the trek (1 porter for 2 trekkers)
  • Assistant trekking guides walking with the group to support as necessary (1 assistant guide for 4 trekkers)
  • Staff costs including their, food, salary, accommodation, transportation and medicine.
  • Insurance covering all staff, including porters as per state law.
  • Down jacket and sleeping bag (to be returned after trip completion).
  • All necessary paper work and permits (National park permit, TIMS).
