Its residents include members of diverse ethnic Nepal communities, including Newars, Brahmin, Chhettri, Tamang and Dalit.Known today for the excellence of its drinking water, Dhulikhei has been for centuries an important trading centre on the commercial route linking Nepal to Tibet.
Next we head west to Bandipur, perched on a mountainside ledge just wide enough for its main street and little more.It offers the visitor a taste of traditional Nepali culture and architecture, since it only became accessible quite recently by road.Heading westward another 80 kilometers, our journey brings us to lakeside Pokhara and the neighboring town of Sarangkot.Located on Sarangkot Mountain, Sarangkot is another superb spot from which to enjoy panoramic views of some of the most iconic Himalayan peaks: Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu.
