Shivapuri - Nagarkot Trek Overview

Shivapuri Nagarkot Trek is an ideal short trip around the Kathmandu valley hill ridge. It is the right trek for those who don't prefer to go to the high altitude but still want to explore the Himalayan views. The trail of Shivapuri Nagarkot Trekking is covered by the dense woods of the Shivapuri National Park, which is awesome. Walking through the isolated route and passing the ethnic Tamang villages, you reach Nagarkot, which is an exotic Himalayan viewpoint.

The initial schedule of the trip allows you to the delighting cultural attractions of the temples and stupas in Kathmandu. Our trekking itinerary on the Shivapuri Nagarkot trail commences from Budhanilakantha, which is one of the entry points of the national park. The waterfalls on the route are outstanding and the trail leads you straight uphill eventually the isolated part of the trail begins. This route is also exclusive to mountain biking. The pristine forest and the rustic setting make the trek remarkable. Trekking via Chisapani, the trek connects Nagarkot, which is an exotic destination for nature lovers. The Himalayan views of Langtang range,Manaslu, Everest view, Ganesh Himal, and Rolwaling peaks can be explored from Nagarkot. The trek continues to Dhulikhel and you drive back to Kathmandu.

It is advantageous to witness the picturesque setting of nature on the Shivapuri Nagarkot Trek. Due to the short itinerary, even time-bounded travelers can enjoy this trek before flying back home. There is no boundary of best seasons for the Shivapuri Nagarkot Trekking. Although the best seasons include spring and autumn, you can enjoy the trip in winter and also in the monsoon. Meals During the Hiking  

The facilities en route to around ridge is well developed. You can enjoy typical Nepali food, different ethnic cuisines as well as all types of international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.) from pizza and Chips to apple pie. You can even enjoy hot chocolates, a variety of bread, a variety of drinks, and snacks. Breakfast of the day will be provided from the teahouse/lodge menu where you spent your night. Lunch will be served on the way to the destination, and dinner, and breakfast in the teahouse where you will spend the night. A welcome dinner, a farewell dinner, and breakfast will be provided during your stay in Kathmandu.

Accommodation During the Treks 

All accommodations for Valley Ridge trek are in hotel/lodges on a twin sharing basis included in the trip cost and are chosen based on the standard of hygiene, the standard of service and food, location, etc. During the trip, you will spend three nights in a 3-star hotel, We will be staying in a three-star hotel in Kathmandu, and during your trekking, you will spend 2 nights in a standard hotel/guesthouse. If you are a solo traveler, you will share a room with someone else of the same sex of your group. If you prefer a single room, you may indicate your preference and get single rooms on request by paying a single supplement cost.

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), you will be welcomed by a representative from Adventure Club Trek. After sorting out your custom formalities (visa and so on), you will be transferred to your respective hotel in Adventure Club Trek’s private vehicle. After resting for some time at your Hotel, you will attend an orientation about your trek led by the trekking leader over a welcome dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu.

On the second day, you will discover the medieval cultural prosperity of Kathmandu city. It has got ancient temples and stupas, which are included in the UNESCO world heritage sites. The Pashupathinath temple (Hindu pilgrimage destination), Kathmandu Durbar Square (an open museum), Buddhanath Stupa, and Swayambhunath Stupa are the major highlights of a day tour in Kathmandu. Exploring these excellent cultural sites, we drive back to the hotel and prepare for the trekking.

We begin the trek from Budhanilakantha, which is an exclusive gateway to Chisapani Nagarkot Trek. It takes about half an hour's drive from Kathmandu to reach there. Obtaining the permit of Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, we climb up gradually. We see a dam on the way, which serves as a water source in some parts of Kathmandu. We climb up gradually through the uphill route passing the Mul Kharka village and the isolated part begins. The trail through the pristine woods leads us to the Chisapani village.

Chisapani allows a beautiful sunrise view in the morning. We enjoy the early morning scenery, have breakfast, and begin a slightly downhill trek. The trail is wide and amazing. We reach Kattike for the lunch, which is a great viewpoint of the snowy peaks. At the same time, the local lifestyle and scattered houses look wonderful. After lunch, we gradually climb up to the travelers' paradise- Nagarkot. It is located above Bhaktapur, which is a popular vacation destination for domestic and international travelers. The last attraction of the day- you enjoy the sunset view from Nagarkot.

The sunrise view over the Himalayan peaks welcomes the morning in Nagarkot. The far sight of Mt. Everest, Manaslu, Langtang, Ganesh Himal, and Dorje Lhakpa shine with the golden rays of the sun. Having breakfast, we kick off from Nagarkot, following an isolated route. The pristine setting of nature is outstanding. Continuing walking, we reach Nala-Banepa and drive to Dhulikhel, which is another sophisticated town in the lap of nature

It's another beautiful morning at Dhulikhel to explore the greenery surroundings, Himalayan views, and scattered settlements on the hillside terrain. Having breakfast at the hotel, we drive back to Kathmandu. On the way, we can visit the largest statue of Mahadev at Sanga and visit the UNESCO-listed site of Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Then drive further to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel.

Our Adventure ends here. A representative from the Adventure Club Trek will accompany you and see you off at Tribhuvan International airport a few hours before the scheduled flight to your home.
