The Shivapuri trek is the ideal option for those who prefer a comfortable and short trek. Shivapuri, the renowned watershed area is known for its abundant wildlife, is the second highest mountain that surrounds the Kathmandu valley. This trek begins from Budhanilkantha and affords splendid views of the central and eastern mountain ranges, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, and Nepali rural life. You have two options to finish the Shivapuri trek: it can end at either Nagarkot or Dhulikhel. The village of Nagarkot presents marvelous views of the mountain ranges as well as the Kathmandu valley. The[JR1] advantage of this trek is that it can be done any time of the year, each season bringing a different flavor and color to the landscape of the Shivapuri region.
The Nagarkot trek is famous for having great mountain views, with stunning sunrises and sunsets above the peaks. From the top, you will not only have magnificent views of Himalayas but also world-class resort accommodations, sightseeing, bird watching, and more. Trekkers make their way up to the village, stay overnight in one of Nagarkot lodges or hotels, then rise at dawn to see the sun appear over the Himalayas. Nagarkot is a popular tourist destination for all of Nepal; it is situated some 32 kilometers east of Kathmandu. The panorama of the major peaks of the Eastern Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, can be seen from here. Other peaks such as Manaslu (8,463m), Ganesh Himal (7,111m),Langtang (7,246m),and Gaurishanker (7,134m), can also clearly seen from Nagarkot. The Shivapuri or Nagarkot treks are two of the most popular trekking destinations in the Kathmandu valley. Shivapuri-Nagarkot trekking begins with a short drive from Kathmandu to Budhanilkantha, where you trek through the forest to the magic of the villages.

Prior to all the treks and expeditions, Adventure Club Trek hosts a pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu. The primary purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about the forthcoming trek and to introduce other team members. The meeting covers topics as diverse as personal equipment and acclimatization and usually involves a hike and some skills training. Pre-trip meeting is very important in order to have a better preparation of the trekking.
