If you are aiming to reach the summit of mighty Mt. Lying in the Khumbu region of Nepal, 8km west from Mt. Everest along Nepal-Tibet Border, Mt. Pumori is a snow and rock mountain. It is one of the most popular mountains among the 7000er Himalayas of Nepal. In spite of being a 7000er, Mt. Pumori is technically challenging mountain that requires climbers to have previous mountaineering experience with excellent physical fitness level.
The expedition to the summit passes via the classic route along the South East Ridge, with a grade 3 snows and ice climb that requires good understanding of alpine climbing techniques and familiarity with the effects of high altitude. The expedition includes setting up of 3 camps above the base camp. After 4 hours climb from the base camp one can reach to the Camp 1. On further ascent, at 40-60 degrees slope crossing the snow wall, Camp 2 at the height of 6200 m can be reached. Then after climbing through the high ice walls and thrilling crevasses we will reach to Camp 3 at 6480 m, from where on passing through crevasses and climbing up to Pumori cliff one can have a victory over summit.
