Kathmandu and Pokhara Tour

About Trip

Renowned for both their historical treasures and their scenic surroundings, Kathmandu and Pokhara offer the visitor unforgettable sights and memories.  Medieval Kathmandu contains more UNESCO World Heritage Sites in one small area than can be found anywhere else on the planet.  Our week-long adventure will begin right here in Kathmandu, home of Durbar Square, Buddhanath, Pashupatinath, and Swayambhunath (the "Monkey Temple"). We will then explore adjacent Patan and Bhaktapur, which also offer UNESCO sites of their own, equally impressive  as those in Katmandu.  From Bhaktapur we will travel a short way to Nagarkot, from which we will enjoy unforgettable views of the majestic Himalaya at sunrise.  Next we journey west to beautiful lakeside Pokhara, where there are a number of historic and scenic points of interest which a wait.  Here in the famous Annapurna Region of Nepal we will get to view at last the breathtaking summits of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges.  Having seen and enjoyed some of Nepal's most amazing sights and places, we return at the end of the week to Kathmandu and our homeward flights.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m)

Day 02:Sightseeing in Kathmandu; Visit to UNESCO Sites

Day 03:Sightseeing in Patan and Bhaktapur and Sunset views from Nagarkot

Day 04:Sunrise view from Nagarkot then drive to Pokhara: 213km, 6-7 hours

Day 05:Explore the sights of Pokhara

Day 06:Drive back to Kathmandu

Day 07:Farewell; flight home
