In this four-day-long trip to Bhutan, Land of the Thunder Dragon, you will visit landmarks in the capital Thimphu, and the city of Paro.
We will start from Paro visiting KichuLhakhang, the oldest Bhutanese monastery followed by a day hike to the fantastic Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery. While in Thimphu, you enjoy tours to the Memorial Chorten, folk heritage museum, nunnery Temple, and Bhutanese traditional painting school among other places. The flights from Kathmandu to Paro and Paro Kathmandu give you the opportunity to fly over the magnificent Himalaya and natural wonders of both Nepal and Bhutan. It is one of the most scenic air routes in the world.
For those who want to explore Bhutan in a longer span of time and even trek in the country, Adventure Club Trek offers Bhutan Cultural Tour with Three days Bumthang Trek- 12 Days, it is a complete tour with three days of trekking in one of the greenest countries in the world, Bhutan.
Just as our flight nears Bhutan, you will see the fantastic views of the Jumolhari and Jichu Drake peaks. Upon arrival at Paro’s National Airport, you will be received and greeted by our representative who will take you to your hotel.Freshen up, and we will then visit RinpungDzong, a massive dzong which houses the district Monastic Body and government administrative offices of Paro Dzongkhag. We then head to see Bhutan's oldest temple, KichuLhakhang followed by a visit to DrugyelDzong, built to symbolize the victory of Bhutan over Tibetan invaders during the 1600s, which will conclude our day. Overnight in Paro.
After breakfast, we will hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest), one of Bhutan's most famous attraction located at 3,120 meters. Legend says the monastery was built after Guru Rinpoche flew on a tigress' back to meditate in a cave where it stands today. Halfway to our destination, we will have lunch at the Cafeteria Restaurant. After reaching to the top and exploring the monastery, we head down to the valley. Later in the afternoon, we will head towards Thimphu, an hour and 20 minutes’ drive and spend the night there.
We start our day at Thimphu by visiting Memorial Chorten, built in memory of the third King of Bhutan (reigned 1952-1972). We will then go to nunnery temple and see Takin (Bhutan's national animal) in the mini zoo. Today, we also visit Thimphu other landmarks like Bhutanese traditional painting school, the majestic TashichhoDzong, National Institute of Traditional Medicine and the traditional paper factory. In the weekends, some of the landmarks are closed, and if you are in Thimphu at the time, instead we will explore the Weekend Market. We will spend the night in Thimphu.
We will leave the land of the Thunder Dragon today. Early breakfast in Thimphu, then we drive to Paro National Airport where we will board Druk Air to Kathmandu which takes off early to avoid adverse weather conditions.

Prior to all the treks and expeditions, Adventure Club Trek hosts a pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu. The primary purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about the forthcoming trek and to introduce other team members. The meeting covers topics as diverse as personal equipment and acclimatization and usually involves a hike and some skills training. Pre-trip meeting is very important in order to have a better preparation of the trekking.
