The ngultrum is the Bhutanese currency. There are denotations of Nu.1, Nu.5, Nu.10, Nu.20, Nu.50, Nu.100, Nu.500, Nu.1000. it is subdivided into 100 Chhertum in which Ch. 20, Ch. 25, Ch. 50 and Nu 1 is mostly in use. Indian currencies are also in use where 500 and 1000 INR are not accepted. There are banks that give you the money exchange facility and also exchange the Traveler’s cheque. The Bank of Bhutan Limited, Bhutan National Bank and the Tashi Bank are some of the banks in Bhutan. Atms are found in all cities that accept Visa or Master Card.
