Annapurna Trek 13 Days with 3 Days volunteering is for those who want to get seamlessly involved in a social cause while on vacation in the Himalaya. Nepal is still recovering from the massive damage of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit the mountainous country on April 25, 2018. The earthquake left 9,000 people dead and over 13,000 injured.
Many volunteering organizations are involved in earthquake recovery issues. So, in this volunteering trek, we will instead focus on an orphanage instead. We have chosen ‘First Ray of Hope’ orphanage in Dhapasi, Kathmandu which Adventure Club Trek supports as a part of our corporate social responsibility. Many schools have been severely damaged and have still not completely recovered. Adventure Club Trek has also been donating manual labor and financial help in school rebuilding in villages.
If you arrive for the trek during the rebuilding process, you can become a part of it as well. As for the orphanage volunteering, we are always looking for people who can make a good impact and teach the children something new. And, we believe a few days of the interactive session with our trekkers will be an interesting event for the children. We will volunteer at the orphanage from Day 3 to Day 6. We leave for Pokhara on Day 7 and start the trek the following day from Nayapul.
We trek through the famous rhododendron forest trail in the Annapurna region. Our trail is quite literally covered with colorful flower pots in the bloom season, spring and autumn. Views of Mt. Machhapuchhre ( 6,993 m), Annapurna I ( 8091m), Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri range among others add to the magic of this trek. The major highlight of the trek is the sunrise view from Poon Hill (3,200m). Watching the sunrise over some of the most stunning and highest mountains in the Himalaya is a spiritually uplifting experience. Adventure Club Trek offers other short treks in the Annapurna region-Ghorepani poon Hill Trek-9 Days and Annapurna Circuit Short Trek-14 Days.
