Annapurna Dhaulagiri Community trek connects Annapurna with Dhaulagiri region. It is an exciting journey that goes through the rhododendron forest and finally through the alpine grazing meadow. During this trek, the panoramas of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range can be explored.

Annapurna Dhaulagiri Trek begins from Nayapul. Then the recommended itinerary goes through Ghandruk, which is a large Gurung village. Ascending to Tadapani, it splits to the isolated trail that leads us to the awesome viewpoint- Khopra ridge through the ethnic communities. This trail has been developed as the community trail offering wonderful hospitality. After Tadapani, you pass Bayeli Kharka and Upper Chistibung to reach Khopra ridge. During the Khopra ridge trek, the views of Dhaulagiri (8163m), Annapurna South (8091m), Fishtail and the surrounding panoramas. Then it descends to Swanta village before climbing up to Ghorepani. Poon Hill is another superb destination to view the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri region peaks and the stunning sunrise over the snowy peaks. Then it retraces to Ghorepani, trek all the way down to Tikhedhunga and drive further to Pokhara.

    Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), you will be welcomed by a representative from Adventure Club Trek. After sorting out your custom formalities (visa and so on), you will be then transferred to your respective hotel in Adventure Club Trek’s private vehicle and give you some time to freshen up. After this, you will attend an orientation about your trek led by the trekking leader over a welcome dinner.Overnight at Hotel.

  • Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu and trip preparation

    The exciting day begins with a cultural tour to various mediaeval sites in Kathmandu. You will drive to visit the UNESCO listed world heritage sites - Pashupatinath Temple (the biggest Hindu shrine), Boudhanath (largest Buddhist Stupa in Nepal), Swayambhunath (a fine Buddhist stupa at the hill top of Kathmandu) and the Kathmandu Durbar Square (an open museum and abode of Kumari). Coming back from the sightseeing, you will take part in a short briefing and trip preparation.Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (910m) : 6-7 hours

    We will take a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The road is winding and the lush vegetation will attract you along with the Himalayan views. It takes approximately 6 hours to reach there. It is a city of lakes and natural wonders. You can enjoy the boating on Phewa Lake on the same day. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 04: Drive to Syauli Bazaar and trek to Ghandruk (1,940m) : 2 hours drive, 3 hours trek

    After the breakfast, we drive to Neyapul for one and half hour, check in at ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) and begin the trek. Through the bank of the Modi Khola, we move ahead and we see the ethnic communities throughout the terraced hill side. Passing Syauli Bazaar, we climb up to Ghandruk, one of the most stunning village in Nepal, populated by the Gurung communities. Overnight at lodge

  • Day 05: Trek Ghandruk to Tadapani (2,590m) : 3- 4 hours

    After breakfast at Ghandruk, we ascend all the way to Tadapani through the rhododendron forest. We have lunch at Bhaisi Kharka. Again we ascend continually through the stone steps and reach over a small pass that leads us to Tadapani. Overnight at lodge.

  • Day 06: rek Tadapani to Bayeli Kharka (3,420m) : 5- 6 hours

    From Tadapani, our trail splits from the main trail and we walk through off-the-beaten trail. It is the trail through which people from lower part take their cattle to graze. Community lodges have been built throughout the trail. We reach to Deurali and continually walk to the Bayeli Kharka, where the first community lodge lies. From this place, you can explore the stunning view of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8163m), the 7th highest peak of the world. Overnight at community lodge.

  • Day 07: Trek Bayeli Kharka to Upper Chistibung (2,975m) : 4- 5 hours

    We head through the grassy slope trail and the pasture land. We meet several herders and their huts. Himalayan Thar and other fauna can be found along the trail and gradually we move to Upper Chistibung. On the one hand we walk on the isolated trail and the breathtaking Himalayan panoramas please us with their extreme fascinations. Overnight at community lodge.

  • Day 08: Trek Upper Chistibung to Khopra Ridge (3,660m) : 4- 5 hours

    Through the grazing meadow, we ascend catching the destination of Khopra ridge, which is a wonderful viewpoint of Annapurna South (8091m), Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and the surrounding peaks. if you walk a bit down, you can see the Kaligandaki River from far distance, which makes the deepest gorge of the world. Overnight at community lodge.

  • Day 09: Rest day in Khopra Ridge: explore to Kaire Lake (4500m) : 5- 6 hours

    Walking an hour down, we reach to Upper Chistibung. After short refreshment, we gradually trek down to the Swanta village. The enticing view of Mt. Dhaulagiri can be seen on the backdrop. Walking through the terraced landscape and forest, we reach to Swanta village. we can visit the local primary school and the surroundings of the village. Overnight at community lodge.

  • Day 10: Trek Khopra Ridge to Swanta Village (2,200m) : 5- 6 hours

    After breakfast, we leave the Swanta village and after an hour walk, we join the trail that leads us to Ghorepani. It is a quitter day of walking with the chirping melodies of the birds. Gradually, we ascend to Ghorepani, which is beautifully located in the middle of the rhododendron forest. overnight at lodge.

  • Day 11: Trek Swanta Village to Ghorepani (2870m) : 4 hours

  • Day 13: Trek Ulleri - Naya Pul (1050m) to Pokhara via Birethanti : 5 hours trek and 1 hour drive

    Ghorepani is located at the bottom line of Poon Hill. We need to walk about 40 minutes to reach at the top. This is so meaningful in this trek that you can view the astounding panoramas of Annapurna South, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Himchuli, Fishtail and many more. Descending to Ghorepani and after having breakfast, we walk further through the rhododendron forest to Tikhedhunga and drive to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 14: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu : 6-7 hours

    Early morning, we will drive back to Kathmandu for about 6 hours and you will transfer to the hotel. Getting refreshed, you will be invited for the farewell dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant hosted by Adventure Club. Overnight at Hotel.

Pre-Trip Meeting 

Prior to all the treks and expeditions, Adventure Club Trek hosts a pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu. The primary purpose of meeting is to provide an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about the forthcoming trek and to introduce other team members. The meeting covers topics as diverse as personal equipment and acclimatization and usually involves a hike and some skills training. Pre-trip meeting is very important in order to have a better preparation of the trekking.

Best time to trek to Annapurna Dhaulagiri Khopra Ridge

Autumn (Sept. to Nov.) and Spring (March to May) are the best seasons for this trek. The weather is sunny and warm with outstanding views. If you wish to avoid crowds and enjoy some alone time with nature, then taking this trip during winter (Dec., Jan., Feb.) could also be an option.
