About Trip

Tent Peak is one of the popular climbing peaks in the Annapurna region that is located at an elevation of 5850 meters. This is an excellent opportunity to have a peak climbing experience with a wonderful trek to Annapurna base camp. This adventurous trip also offers the cultural scenario of the ethnic communities and their daily life pattern.

Starting the trek from Nayapul, you walk through the Modi Khola belt, ascending to Ghandruk. This beautiful Gurung village is a source of folk culture and traditions. Women have great role in the society where Men go to join the Army. Exploring the culture of Ghandruk, you trek all the way to Annapurna base camp via Machhapuchhre base camp. During the trek, you cross beautiful rhododendron, bamboo and oak forest of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). At the base camp, you will be surrounded by the towering peaks of the Annapurna encircle you. With acclimatization, you approach to the south of ABC and reach to the Tent peak base camp. High camp is set around 4500 meters. Using the climbing gears, you reach at the top of the Tharpu Chuli (5663m) and enjoy the magnificent panoramas of snowy peaks, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail and others. Retracing through the same route, you reach to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m)Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), you will be welcomed by a representative from Adventure Club Trek. After sorting out your custom formalities (visa and so on), you will be then transferred to your respective hotel in Adventure Club Trek’s private vehicle and give you some time to freshen up. After this, you will attend an orientation about your trek led by the trekking leader over a welcome dinner. Overnight at hotel. Meals: Dinner Included,

Day 02KATHMANDU : Sightseeing and trip preparationThe exciting day begins with a cultural tour to various mediaeval sites in Kathmandu. You will drive to visit the UNESCO listed world heritage sites - Pashupatinath Temple (the biggest Hindu shrine), Boudhanath (largest Buddhist Stupa in Nepal), Swayambhunath (a fine Buddhist stupa at the hill top of Kathmandu) and the Kathmandu Durbar Square (an open museum and abode of Kumari). Coming back from the sightseeing, you will take part in a short briefing and trip preparation. Overnight at hotel. Meals: Breakfast included,.

Day 03Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (823m) : 6 hours After breakfast, We will drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu. The road is winding and the lush vegetation attracts us along with the Himalayan views. It takes approximately 6/7 hours to reach there. It is a city of Lakes and natural wonders. You can enjoy the boating on Phewa Lake, the same day. Overnight at hotel. Meals: Breakfast included.

Day 04Drive from Pokhara to Naya Pul and trek to Ghandruk (1900m) : 4-5 hours trek Nayapul is about an hour drive from Pokhara, which is the gateway of most of the treks in Annapurna. Here is the checkpoint of Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP). Then we begin to trek to Ghandruk with the panoramic views of waterfalls and green fields. Ghandruk is a beautiful Gurung village. Overnight at Teahouse . Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 05Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2170m) : 6 hours trek We head towards the northern part, with a steep descend to the River. Crossing a bridge, we walk along the bank of the River, and then climb up through the steep trail that gradually leads us to the striking village of Chhomrong. We get the panoramas of Mt. Annapurna and Fishtail peak from the trail. Overnight at Teahouse. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 06Chhomrong to Himalaya Hotel (2840m) : 6-7 hours trek Having a delicious breakfast, we begin our trek crossing the Modi Khola. Then we continue our excursion through the forest, cross the bridge and climb up to Sinuwa. If you are confident for walking then we can reach Sinuwa from Tadapani on the same day. The trail is dotted by the rhododendron forest, and then we reach to Khuldighar, trek down to Dovan and steadily ascend to the Himalaya Hotel. Overnight at Teahouse. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 07Himalaya Hotel to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m) : 5 hours trek After the breakfast, we commence through the rhododendron forest above the River. Crossing another stream, we walk further uphill through the isolated part. Of course, the picturesque sceneries are breathtaking. Gradually, we climb up to the alpine region, where we may encounter with some wild animals. Exploring the Hinku cave, which is located on the way, we reach to Deurali. Walking through the avalanche route, we reach to Machhapuchhre base camp. Overnight at Teahouse. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 08Machhapuchhre Base Camp to Annapurna Base camp (4,130m) : 2 hours trek Our trek begins with a short ascend towards the next ridge. Its little tough to walk but we head further with a gradual pace. It is a short walk to the Annapurna base camp. The superb mountain vistas of, Annapurna south, Annapurna I, Machhapuchhere, Himchuli and other surrounding peaks can be seen spectacular. Gradually, we reach to the Annapurna base camp, which is in the shape of a bowl, where the surrounding edges are airborne peaks. The sunset over such beautiful snow covered peaks are just fabulous. Day 09Acclimatization and Climbing Preparation We have already crossed 4000 meters altitude. So, we need a rest day to acclimatize or we can walk around. Arranging climbing equipments can be done today. Overnight at Teahouse. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 10Annapurna Base Camp to Tent peak Base Camp (4450m) : 5 hours trek After feeling physically fit and acclimatized, we embark towards the Tent peak base camp. It is in total 4-5 hours walk and set a camp at 4450 meters altitude. We take care for all the tented services and kitchen facilities. Then we prepare for the climbing on the following day. Overnight at tented camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 11Tent peak Base Camp to High Camp (5,200m) : 5 hours trek Climbing to the high camp is a form of acclimatization practice in the thin air region. the following day, we are going to make an adventurous climb to the Tharpu Chuli. High camp is set around 5000 meters. Then our guides offer climbing techniques and using climbing equipment. Overnight at tented camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 12Summit to Tent Peak and back to High Camp : 6- 7 hours It is the main day of the Tent peak climbing trip. Confirming the suitable weather, we climb up to the summit of the Tharpu Chuli (5850m) in the early morning. Enjoying the superb time at the peak, we gradually climb down to the base camp. The only thing in the evening is to celebrate the successful climb. Overnight at tented camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 13Descent to Tent Peak Base Camp then to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) : 5- 6 hours An easy walk leads you to the Annapurna base camp. If you like to walk further, we can descend but the environment in the base camp is more fabulous, surrounded by the high Himalayas. Overnight at Teahouse. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 14Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2310m) : 6 hours trek Getting up early in the morning, we can get the magnificent sunrise view over the mountains. Grab the golden panoramas and arrest in your camera. We walk a bit around and explore the views of Annapurna South, Himchuli and Fishtail. After the breakfast, we descend to Bamboo from the trail we climbed up to ABC and reach Bamboo for rest. Overnight at Teahouse. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 15Bamboo to Jhinu Dada (1760m) : 6 hours trek After the breakfast, we continue on trekking down to Jhinu Danda. The sceneries that can be seen while walking are wonderful. Jhinu is the best place for accommodation today as it has got a natural hot spring. It is said that taking a natural hot bath, you will get free from various kind of skin diseases. Overnight at Teahouse. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 16Jhinu Dada - Naya Pul to Pokhara : 6 hours trek, 1 hour driveAfter the breakfast, we trek down making the Modi Khola River on our left. We can enjoy the views of waterfalls and superb green hill forest. We reach Nayapul, check out from ACAP counter and drive further to Pokhara. Visit around the lakeside city in the evening and go for the delicious meal. Overnight at Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch included.

Day 17Drive back to Kathmandu : 6 hoursEarly morning, we will drive back to Kathmandu for about 6 hours and you will transfer to the hotel. Getting refreshed, you will be invited for the farewell dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant hosted by Adventure Club. Overnight at hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner included.

Day 18Farewell; flights homeAdventure Club Trek will manage a farewell drive to the international airport for your final flight departure. Meals: Breakfast included

Pre-Trip Meeting

Prior to all the treks and expeditions, Adventure Club Trek hosts a pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu. The primary purpose of meeting is to provide an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about the forthcoming trek and to introduce other team members. The meeting covers topics as diverse as personal equipment and acclimatization and usually involves a hike and some skills training. Pre-trip meeting is very important in order to have a better preparation of the trekking.

Best Time to Trek:

Autumn (Sept. to Nov.) and Spring (March to May) are the best time to trek in the Himalayas and summit Tent Peak. During these seasons the sky is clear which means that we can fully enjoy remarkable views of the mighty Himalayan vista.
